Activity 4
Song: Confrontation from Jekyll and Hyde by Frank Wildhorn
*Changed with the intention of making Jekyll agree with Hyde
[Jekyll]
It can’t be done, people takes sides
How could they ever know
The great trial of Edward Hyde
Who for they died
Through sad deaths they surely know
They alone see the tragedy
They see my true intent
The height to which Hyde sprouted
Will forever be my one true legacy
Was I a good man?
Was I a madman?
There is a fine line
Between good Jekyll and his—
[Hyde]
Did you really think
That you would ever gain control?
Did you think that you would be set free?
If you did, I’m sure you know
It simply isn’t so
You will never get away from me
[Jekyll]
You are the face that I see in the mirror
I close my eyes and you are still there
[Hyde]
I’m what you face when you face in the mirror
Long as you live, I will still be here
[Jekyll]
All that you are is the start of a nightmare
All that you are is a rising scream
After tonight, I shall join this demon’s dream
[Hyde]
This is not a dream, my friend
And it will never end
This is the nightmare that goes on
Hyde is here to stay
It’s far past time you don’t pretend
That you’ll flourish after I am gone
[Jekyll]
Soon, you will live
And together we will hide you
We cannot choose but to lose control
[Hyde]
You can’t control me
I live deep inside you
Each day you will feel me devour your soul
[Jekyll]
I’ll surely need you to live like you need me
I’ll become whole as we dance with death
And we’ll rejoice as they breathe their final breath
[Hyde]
Oh, I’ll live inside you forever
[Jekyll]
Yes!
[Hyde]
With Satan himself by our side!
[Jekyll]
Yes!
[Hyde]
And we know that now and forever
They’ll never be able to separate
Jekyll from Hyde
[Jekyll]
You can see
It’s over now
It’s time to rise
[Hyde]
Yes! It’s time!
Both of us!
[Jekyll]
If you die, I die too
[Hyde]
You’ll live in me, and I’ll be you
[Jekyll]
Great sakes, Hyde!
Let us flee!
[Hyde]
Can’t you see?
You are me
[Jekyll]
Yes!
Deep inside—!
[Hyde]
I am pure!
You are Hyde!
